The Costume Design Sub-Commission facilitates the promotion of the field of costume and disseminates information about the art and practice of costume design, sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, informing on artistic practice & research, and motivating creative and critical discourse on costume related issues.
The Scenography Triennale in Bucharest was organized for the first time in 1967 and returnes after a 32-year hiatus. Organized by OISTAT Romania, the event returns in 2024 under the name 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐁𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐞, continuing the tradition of spotlighting Romanian scenography, and showcasing innovative creations.
The Romanian National Centre of OISTAT (International Organization of Theater Designers, Technicians and Architects), was established in 1970, and since 2022 operates within UNITER, the Theatrical Union of Romania. The Centre dealt with the exchange of information, experience and knowledge between designers from Romania and abroad.
Created and organized by the OISTAT Costume Design Sub-Commission in different countries, the WCiA 2024 will be hosted by the Bucharest Scenography Biennale and the OISTAT Romanian Centre.
